Why this plan matters

The We Are Walsall 2040 borough plan is for everyone in Walsall – a roadmap to create safer neighbourhoods, better jobs, and a greener, healthier future for all.

Organisations from across Walsall have come together to develop the vision, which has been shaped by the views of more than 10,000 local residents and businesses. They told us that they want Walsall in the future to be a borough where they are thriving and happy; healthy and well; prosperous and innovative; and a place where they can be proud to live and work.

On 21 June 2023 the final strategy for We Are Walsall 2040 was approved by Walsall Council's Cabinet on behalf of the partnership, providing an ambitious collective vision for the borough by 2040. 

The strategy provides a strategic framework for the We Are Walsall 2040 partners to prioritise resources and shared ambitions for a Walsall that works for everyone.

The organisations involved have a strong foundation of partnership working, collaboration and a determination to get things done. 

The We Are Walsall 2040 strategy is a partnership effort that takes on board the things that matter to the people of Walsall and their dreams for the future.

Walsall Children and Young People’s Strategy

We’re committed to becoming a child-friendly borough where every child and young person can grow up healthy, happy, and be able to achieve their full potential. 

The Walsall Children and Young People’s strategy has been shaped by listening to the voices of children, young people, and professionals to truly understand their experiences and the changes needed to create a brighter future. 

By 2040, our ambition is for all children and young people in Walsall to have the emotional wellbeing, resilience, and opportunities they need to succeed. This strategy is more than a vision - it’s a journey. We will continue to reflect, learn, and adapt, ensuring that every child, no matter where they live, has the same life chances and a borough they can be proud of.
